- 7th Biennial Conference of AIPEU, Gr.-C, Odisha Circle branch conducted successfully
The
7th Biennial Conference of AIPEU, Gr.-C, Odisha Circle branch was conducted
successfully from 29.09.2012 to 01.10.2012 at the historic city of Sambalpur
situated on the bank of river Mahanadi and supported with the unending
blessings of Maa Samaleswari. The Circle Working Committee meeting was held at
Parsuram Bhawan, Sambalpur on 29.09.2012 followed by the Subject Committee and
the Open Session on 30.09.2012 in Sambalpur Town Hall.
All
the issues confronting India Post and
its employees were discussed in thread bar as per the agenda and several
resolutions were adopted. While all India issues like Postmaster Cadre, Cadre restructuring,
Corporate Plan of India Post, National Postal Policy, Organizational Restructuring
of India Post, Core Banking Solution, MACP anomalies, introduction of various
new products and services etc were seriously debated, the problems of LSG,
HSG-II, HSG-I, Accountant, APM (Accounts), System Administrator, Business
Executive were highlighted and day to day difficulties faced by the staff members due to Project Arrow, non-availability
of required forms, non-supply of computer consumables, non-maintenance of Post Offices,
postal colonies and staff quarters, contributory negligence etc. by the Circle
Union Office bearers and Divisional Secretaries/delegates. A memorandum was
prepared by the CWC covering four major issues like provision of police escort
in cash van, special arrangement for huge conveyance of cash to rural SOs/BOs for
payment to job card holders under MGNREGA, dequarterization of Post Offices
having post attached quarters below schedule of accommodation and in dilapidated
condition and organizing meetings/melas on Sundays and holidays. The said
memorandum was handed over to the Chief Postmaster General, Odisha Circle ( who
had attended the Conference as Chief Guest ) on the spot by the Circle Secretary soon after
the Open Session was over.
In
his welcome address as the Chairman of the Reception Committee, Sri Suresh
Pujari, Ex-President, Odisha State BJP narrated the role and importance of
Sambalpur in the freedom struggle of India. His deliberation included the
contribution of Veer Surendra Sai to the freedom struggle and the importance of
Samblapuri dance and cotton to Indian culture and heritage. He described India
Post as the least corrupt Department.
Inaugurating
the Open Session, Com. M Krishnan, our beloved Secretary General, National
Federation of Postal Employees, New Delhi criticized the faulty and
anti-welfare policies adopted by India Post. He appealed the Govt. to stay away
from privatizing India Post failing which as many as six lakh postal employees from 155000 post
office will come forward to save India Post and its employees.
Attending
the Conference as Chief Guest, Sri S K Chakrabarti, Chief Postmaster General,
Odisha Circle suggested for a new mindset to accept the changes now going on
around the world with technological advancement to which India Post has since
been a part through computerization since there can be no progress without
change.

K V Sridharan, our beloved ex-General Secretary addressed the Open Session as
Chief Speaker. Nicely describing all the issues related to the Postal employees,
he appealed one and all to stand united to fight not only for the cause of the postal employees but even for the common
people. Stating the philosophy of Lenin, he suggested everybody to become the privileged
sufferer for the benefit of the mass.
Sri
P K Bisoi, Postmaster General, Sambalpur Region while addressing the gathering
as Hon’ble Guest, appealed one and all to work hard with full integrity and
sincerity to keep up the good will of India Post intact.

Ramesh Ch. Mishra, Circle Secretary presented the Biennial Report and the
meeting was presided by Com. K C Pattnaik, President, AIPEU, Group-C, Odisha
Circle branch.
Among
others, Com. R N Dhal, leader RJCM(Staff Side), Com. D B Mohanty, Circle
Secretary , P-IV and Com. N C Singh, Circle Secretary, AIPEU GDS ( NFPE) had
also attended the Conference.
