SAI International School, Bhubaneswar wins the International Super Stamp Challenge

                  SAI International School has bagged the most prestigious British Council Stamp Design Contest, an initiative of the British Council's Connecting Classrooms programme, supported by the Royal Mail, UK, in the Individual prize category this year. The School has been glowing in the International galaxy for taking the extra leap and achieving the unachievable. The International school award was the crowning glory for the School followed by the first prize in the „Paint the world contest in 2010 and now the International Stamp design contest in 2011.
SAIoneer Simple Mohanty of class X has brought glory to the school being the proud winner of the Individual prize category out of the several participating Schools from the world over. Simple was awarded the first prize in the contest.
The theme of the contest was “Friendship through Sports and Games”. As a true SAI ONEER she acknowledges that SAI International School has helped her not only realize her potentials but it has nurtured and groomed her talents and the numerous platforms provided by the school has helped her realize and nurture her talents. The constant positive motivation and encouragement by the teachers and mentors has worked wonders for boosting her confidence the winner expressed.
The contest was conducted in two stages. The first stage of the contest involved individual participation by schools from India, Sri Lanka and the UK. A total of 130 schools participated in the first stage of the competition. Following the assessment of Stage one, the shortlisted designs got grouped into seven International teams, each comprising of three schools from India, two from Sri Lanka and one from the UK. While the first stage was about team-work within the school the second Stage involved was the team-work between schools internationally.
At each stage, the participating teams were required to complete a set of tasks and upload content on the project space that was provided on the CC Online Community. The decision was based on a combination of votes from the online users of the community Schools and the scores were given by the panel of judges.
Dr Bijoy.K.Sahoo, the Chairman of the School expressed his immense pleasure over the astounding success of the students of the school and the partnership of the school with the British Council which has made the School truly global. He assured that more opportunities will be given to the students to unfurl their latent talents and showcase it to the world. More avenues will be created for the students and no stone will remain unturned to provide International exposure to the students.
The Principal of the School Dr Arun Prakash, the trustee Mrs. Silpi Sahoo and the Vice-principal Mr. N.K.Panigrahi were also delighted with the success of the school and congratulated the winner for achieving this extraordinary feat.
