Dear Comrades,
I feel immense happy to congratulate all the brave warriors of NFPE who could be able to bring a thundering success to the nationwide two-days strike called by the Confederation on 12th & 13th February, 2014. I’m completely obliged to all my members including the members of other NFPE unions in Bhubaneswar Division whose combined efforts could create history in Odisha Postal Trade Union Movement through complete closure of the office of the Chief Postmaster General, Odisha Circle for the first time. The constructive conductance of combined agitational programme in the beginning of the two-days strike on 12.02.2014 by the bonafide members of AIPEU, Group-C, AIPEU, Postman & MTS and AIPEU GDS (NFPE) in Bhubaneswar Division and AIPAOEU, Odisha Circle  compelled all officers of Circle Office including Chief PMG and DPS to remain outside the office up to 11.30 AM. However, after an amicable discussion of the DPS(HQ) with Com. R C Mishra, CS, P-III, Com. Lenin Mohanty, CS, AIPAOEU and Com. B Samal, Divisional Secy,. AIPEU, Gr.-C, Bhubaneswar Division, the Chief PMG, DPS (HQ), DPS(BD) and few A Ds were allowed only to operate the control room. In this regard, the cooperation received from AIAIASP, Odisha Circle branch is highly  commendable.  On behalf of the Confederation, I would like to congratulate all the members of AIAIASP, Odisha Circle branch and do expect that their association will think for a while to join in the main stream at the time of need for mass interest.
As per report collected from the Control Room, out of 73 S Os including GPO in Bhubaneswar Division, only 7 Sub Post Offices headed by FNPO members and few B Os operated by AIPEDEU members remained opened with negligible impact on this historic strike.
The programmes were suitably covered by local electronic medias like OTV, MBC TV, Nakshatra TV, Zee Kalinga etc. and transmitted on both the days. Many local and national newspapers also published our activities.
The same policy was also adopted for the 2nd day of the strike and with the cooperation of the Circle Administration and AIAIASP, Odisha Circle, the Circle Office remained completely closed. Mass rally, demonstrations, meetings were arranged in phased manner inside the campus and the two-days strike was concluded successfully.
